Ideal Doctor

I promised to my self that I have to write a post about ideal doctor before I attend my rotational internship program.
Being a doctor is one of my goals, sure I still have another goals, but in here I would't talk about it.
In this post I mixed the opinion from Sandurezu 'd Syandrez and the researches -- who included Neeli Bendapudi, PhD, of Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business
Here they are:

  • Confident : The doctor's confidence gives me confidence
  • Empathetic: The doctor tries to understand what i am feeeling and experiencing, physically and emotionally, and communicates that understand to me
  • Humane : The doctor is caring, compassionate, and kind
  • Personal : The doctor is interested in me more than just a patient, interacts with me, and remembers me as an individual
  • Forthright : Te doctor tells me what I need to know in plain language and in a forthright manner
  • Respectful : The doctor takes my input seriously and works with me
  • Thorough : The doctor is conscientious and persistent
  • Health care provider : The doctor should not take advantage of the profession he had for their personal interests. Doctors in truth is caring, dedicated, and not merely for the money. If the 'ultimate goal' to be a doctor is to make money, better quit medical school
  • Problem solver : not only my health problems but also any kind of my problems
  • Good communicator : Not only to the patient, but for anyone who is associated with him/her, including establishing good relationship with family and friends, teachers, students, colleagues, the public, and anyone. A doctor should not be silent, but not be too much to say or fussy
  • Have a faith : The doctor must believe and are sure that he is not a cure-person, but it is Allah Who heals. He realized that he was only a man destined by Allah to be a healing medium for people who are sick
  • Devoted to Allah : The doctor is the one who always keeps himself in acts that please Allah. He/she was doing all the commandments of God, and he was away from all the prohibitions of Allah. Included in the profession as a doctor, he would not do the things that make God's wrath and always pursue her love of God.
  • Clean : The doctor should be clean inside and outside, I don't want to be examined by doctor who is dirty and sloven
  • Educated : smart!

Is It Halal?

Just yesterday ago I made a plan to make a small celebration of my graduation with my Malaysian buddies in one of Japanese Restaurant (Hanamasa) in the mall, right after I announced my will to eat in that place through BBM message suddenly I remember that the restaurant that I am going to is didn't officially HALAL certified yet by MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia - Indonesian Ulama Coucil). My mind was really confused, I clearly remember that I saw "HALAL" sign in one of the Islamic Magazine but it was long time ago, so I am sure to going to that place, several hours later I am really anxious (I was so labile) so I check the internet and find any article about "halal" in that restaurant, almost 90% people stated that restaurant is not halal or didn't halal certified yet, I figured out what made it non halal, they said that the sauce is not halal because contained low-level of alcohol.
But I was in denial phase, I make sure that they're wrong (the people who declared it's not halal) so I convince myself that I am going to the restaurant and I will eat the vegetables and the soup  only (without the sauce) because my nafs (in my mind) I am thinking about how delicious and fresh the Yakiniku and Shabu-Shabu. But once again Allah saved me (Alhamdulillah) my lusts is defeated by my fear, Alhamdulillah I still have eeman *blushing*

This is what I was looking for

What's halal? According Khala Wikipedia, Halal (Arabic: حلال ḥalāl, "permissible") is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law. The opposite of this word is haraam.
Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat under Islamic dietary guidelines. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat/animal tissue. that term not only covers food and drink, but also to all matters of daily life. When it comes to halal food, most people think of meat foods only. However, Muslims must ensure that all foods, particularly processed foods, pharmaceuticals, and non-food items like cosmetics, are also halal. Frequently, these products contain animal by-products or other ingredients that are not permissible for Muslims to eat or use on their bodies.
O you People! Eat of what is on earth, Halal and pure, and do not follow the footsteps of the Satan; Indeed for he is to you an open enemy (2:168)
O you who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah, if it is Him that you worship (2:172)
About the sauce that provided in that restaurant which is contained alcohol made me remember one hadith:

"Abdullah ibn Amr said that the Prophet SAW said, People who drink khamr/alcohol and get drunk, his prayer is not accepted for 40 days. When he died in the hell. If he repent, God will forgive him. But if the back drinking khamr/alcohol and drunk, his prayer is not accepted for 40 days. When he die he will go to the hell. When he returned to drink again, then the right of Allah to give him a drink of Radghatul Khabal on the Day of Resurrection. The Companions asked, Ya Rasulallah, what's Radaghatul khabal? He replied; the squeezed people from the hell."
I could't imagine if my prayer is not accepted for 40 days and I do believe that my business would not be smooth if I eat that sauce. Honestly I didn't remember any ayah from Al Qur'an except the hadith above (stated by Abdullah ibn Amr)
Pathetic -_-
And also, Forbidden to you are Maytah (carrion or dead animal, animal not slaughtered with Tasmiyah .i.e. mentioning the name of Allah swt), flowing blood, the flesh of swine, and that slaughter on which was invoked name other than Allah, as well as the (animal) killed by strangulation or beaten to death with violent blow or falling (from a height) to its death or gored to death (through fighting) or by falling to a predator (and about to be consumed) -- unless you are able to slaughter in the name of Allah (swt) and carry out the sacrifice before it dies)…. (5:3)

Note: In the above ayah, the animal / bird not slaughtered with Tasmiyah are considered dead animal (Maytah) and are unlawful (haram) to eat, and it is mentioned before the mentioning the flesh of swine to be unlawful (haram); they are at the same level of haram.

Eat of that over which the name of Allah (swt) has been pronounced (while slaughtering that animal/bird), if you are believers in His revelations (6:118)
And why should you not eat of that (meat) on which Allah's Name has been pronounced (at the time of slaughter), while He has explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you, except under extreme necessity? (6:119)
Eat not (O believers) of that meat on which Allah’s Name has not been pronounced (at the time of slaughtering) for sure it is disobedience of Allah (a sinful conduct). And certainly, the Shayaatin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you, and if you obey them [making al-Maytatah legal to eat (Maytatah - a dead animal or animal / bird slaughtered without taking the name of Allah during slaughter)], then you would indeed be a polytheists (doing shirk, ascribing partners to Allah) (6:121)
And such animals upon which they mention not the name of Allah only to fabricate a lie against him (6:138)
So eat of the lawful (Halal) and good food (Tayyib) which Allah has provided for you (16:114)
For every nation we have appointed [sacred] rites of sacrifice so that they may take the name of Allah (swt) upon the animals [at the time of slaughter] that He gave them as sustenance (22:34)
Take the name of Allah (swt) upon them [at the time of slaughter] as they line up (for sacrifice) (22:36)

From the hadiths that I've mentioned above, we learn that both the prophets and the believers have been commanded to eat from the tayyibat, or the pure things. Purity is achieved when one earns his sustenance in a halal manner, and then uses it to buy halal food. So, if a person buys pure food from stolen money, this will not be accepted from him. Likewise, if one earns money from permissible means, then uses it to buy impermissible items, such as intoxicants, this too will not be accepted from him. Only when both of these conditions have been met - the way one earns money and the way one spends it - will Allah's acceptance be gained.

“Halal (the Lawful & Permissible) is clear and Haram (the Unlawful & Impermissible) is clear. Between halal and haram lays some doubtful things. Many people do not know whether it is permissible or not. Whoever leaves out these doubtful things in order to protect his religion and honor, then he is safe. Whoever indulges in these doubtful things/matters it is very possible that he will fall into haram, similar to a person who grazes his animals near the royal pasture it is very possible that one day he will graze in the royal pasture. Behold! Every king has a royal pasture and the royal pasture of Allah is those things which have been made impermissible.” (Tirmidhi 1205)

Do you know shubhat? Yeah, you're right between halal and haram is shubhat, so if you leaving these doubtful things you already protecting this deen and the honor of this deen and ummah (insha Allah), in my logic; let's say that the halal food is white cat water color and the haram food is black cat water color, and shubhat is the gray color, the mixed color of white and black cat water color, you'll notice there's still a black color inside that food so it's haram right, right? So what are you thinking about? Just leave it and find another food.
The Prophet (salallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Avoid whatever you have doubts about in favor of what is not (doubtful).” (Tirmidhi)
Sayyiduna Ka`b Ibn Ujrah (radhiallahu anhu) relates that the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “A body nourished with haram will not enter Jannah”. (Tirmidhi 614)

So, watch what you eat and drink!!

Trip to Saudi Arabia and Omrah

Fascinating Journey…
Trip to Saudi Arabia and Omrah

Thanks to mbak Raka!!

24 Februari 2010
Jangan sampe deh!
Sampai rumah dengan selamat, langsung aja ngerjain amanah neuron As Salam.

25 Februari 2010
Bangun pagi jam 4.30 pagi, sholat subuh diteruskan dengan baca al ma’tsurat, seperti biasa penyakitku ini kambuh lagi; tidur abis sholat subuh, baru aja mau pake selimut sudah ditegur sama ummi, “Heh!! Mau ke Saudi kok tidur lagi?! Mandi sana!”… yuuuuk mandi…
Jam 8 pagi
Baru selesai mandi, pake baju baru, pake parfum, pake sepatu dan pake2 yg lain..
Jam 8.30 teng!
Langsung cabut ke juanda airport (woohoo.. Jakarta, I’m coming!!), Alhamdulillah..
Masha Allah! Ketemu Rizky Abdullah (PD 09), mau ke Jakarta jugak! Sepesawat pula, sayang banget kita g bisa ngobrol, coz tempat seat yg didapat berjauhan.
Emmm… ngomong2 tentang pesawatnya (Garuda), g muasin banget! I prefer Air Asia than Garuda, kenapa?
1. Masih nemuin sampah2 kecil2 di kabin pesawat
13 PM @Soekarno Hatta Airport
Istirahat makan siang di hotel transit (lupa nama lengkapnya), nambah 2 piring trus sholat dalam keadaan kekenyangan (bias bayangin g?), after that… SULAIMAN HEJAZI CALLED ME by phone!! He also talked with my dad and used Arabic language, OMG, I didn’t know what are they talking about, I asked my dad what’s the meaning? He said “call Sulaiman if u need help, sms him!” Aiiiiiyyyyyyyyooooo, thanks dude!! Shookran! Ya Allah Ya Allah
Entah kenapa tiba2 teringat modul D…
@Saudi Arabian Airlines Plane with flight number SV 821 with seat number 32C..
Lailaheilallah… (lagi2 ngeluh)
Dapet pesawat terbitan lama..
17.45 WIB = 13.45 (waktu Riyadh)
*masih dipesawat
Suddenly my dad announced me that we will landing at DAMMAM!!! (but a bit poor me, my feet don’t touch the soil of Dammam, just transit for 1 hour and just stay inside PLANE) Sulaiman’s home sweet home (hey, how bout Syria?), according to the flight schedule we’ll landing at Medina..
How happy I am, I’ll see Dammam with my own eyes..
0.14 WIB = 20.14 (waktu Riyadh)
Astaghfirullah… telat nih..
1.12 WIB = 21.12 (waktu Riyadh)

Dammam Airport

Nothing to do, just sitting inside plane for 1 hour, we’re not allowed to go outside because the Mr. Boarding Pass Checker will come.. but I’m happy (again) to be here! Dammam oh Dammam.. (Ya Sulaiman! I think I love Dammam, your place is beautiful!, Masha Allah!)..\Lagi iseng2nya bengong tiba2 passenger dibelakang saya mulai buka suara, lho kok suaranya mirip Prof. Hafid, Sp.BS ya? (si passenger ngobrol2 ma istrinya terus mengikik2 geje sambil baca newspaper), setelah diliat ternyata kakek2 tua sama istrinya, keliatannya orang Turki..
3.47 WIB = 12.47 (waktu Riyadh)

Medinah, dingin banget

Arrive in King Abdul Aziz Airport, Medina..
Elhamdulillah wa Masha Allah, adeeeem bener…brrrr…
*biar saya beritau, sekarang lagi peralihan musim dingin ke musim panas, entah kenapa musim dinginnya kayaknya g mau pergi..
6.50 WIB = 2.58 WR

Sabtu, 27 Februari 2010
Bangun pagi jam 4 subuh WR, buang hajat, whudu’, ganti baju, langsung cabut ke Al Haram Medina (Nabawi), lagi enak2nya I’tikaf tiba2 ada yg pegang saroongku (kaget!), sambil ngoceh2 dalam bahasa arab ga jelas, untung ada ai, di bilang “sarong kamu kainnya bagus sekali, dapat darimana?”
Andunisiy ofcourse…
Balik lagi ke hotel, istirahat sebentar sambil siap-siap mau ziyarah..
1st place: Masjid Quba
2nd place: Dates Garden
3rd place: Masjid Qiblatayn
4th place: Jabal Uhud
The views are really amazing, I wish I go there again. The most favorite place for me is Jabal Uhud, Rasulullah SAW smiling when he seeing Jabal Uhud, because Jabal Uhud saved Him from his enemies.
18.11 WIB = 14.11 WR
Gede amat!), Deg! Kasihan ni orang, aku kasih aja 15 riyal dulu, tapi dia g mau, maunya 50 riyal, sempet kepikiran sih ni orang bohong nggak ya?. Tapi berhubung kaki dah g kuat berdiri lagi dan badan ingin berbaring di kasur hotel yg empuk, tanpa babibu kasih aja 50 riyal, kalo dia emang bener2 butuh 50 riyal yasudah saya ikhlaskan untuk shodaqoh, kalo dia bohong yasudah biar itu urusannya sama Allah.. (sempet dongkol dikit…)

Minggu, 28 Oktober 2010
Sampe dihotel g langsung istirahat tapi langsung umroh, ahamdulillah lancar, selesainya jam setengah tiga pagi..
Senin, 1 Maret 2010
Malemnya umroh lagi buat Jiddiku..
Abis umroh…
Sandal CROC kodianku ilang!!!
Aku: “Eeemmm… oke!”
Aku: *lari
Kenapa kok lari? Gimana ga lari? Mereka ada rebutan 5 riyal sambil jerit2 gitu, dan saya takut dimintain lagi sama orang begituan… Hari yang aneh..
Selasa, 2 Maret 2010
Ziyarah lagi…
1st place: Jabal Tsur
2nd place: Arafat
3rd place: Muzdalifah and Mina
4th place: Jabal Noor (Heera Cave)
*latar: Al Rehab restaurant @Dar Al Tawhid Hotel, Intercontinental
Ronde pertama makan siang dengan nasi putih, ayam, sayur buncis dgn kacang polong, ronde kedua makan chicken Milanese dengan samosa keju, Alhamdulillah semua habis, tersisa sushi, emang sengaja akan dimakan paling akhir kare na sudah lama pengen nyoba sushi tapi g pernah sempet beli..
Gigitan pertama, uuuuurrgghh!! Norinya amis…
Gigitan kedua, bleeeee…
Gigitan ketiga dan dilahap semua…
Kunyah pelan-pelan…
Kunyah lebih pelan lagi…
Perutku mual…
Kunyah lebih-lebih-lebih pelan lagi…
*3 anak kecil (11 tahunan) ngeliat aku makan sushi
…mencoba menelan…
Tertelan sedikit…
*sushi masih terkumpul di rongga mulut
Gag tahan…
Uuurrrgg… (Uuuuuukkk..)-> “mau keluar”
Hoeeeks!!-> “hampir keluar”
Huweeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk…-> “akhirnya dikeluarkan juga”
*3 anak kecil itu langsung keluar dari restoran
OMG, malunyaaa… ini semua gara sushi!! Makanan apa itu?!! Gag enak banget!
(rasanya muka pengen di face off kayak lisa)
Malamnya adalah shopping time…
Rabu, 3 Maret 2010
Thawaf Wada’, Alhamdulillah pada putaran ketujuh bias cium hajar aswad..
Habis makan siang langsung cabut ke Jeddah..
Sampai di hotel (Red Sea Palace) langsung istirahat

Jalan2 ke balad, makan2, minum2, shopping, nyobain ayam al baik, foto2, ke laut, ke danau (tapi bau).. yah begitulah selama di Jeddah, have fun teruss sampe hari jum'at..
Finally... say good bye to KSA...
